Prospective Students
Graduate students are an integral part of SIL, and heavily involved its research. They are registered for degree programs in an appropriate CU-Boulder department or program such as Environmental Sciences, Geological Sciences, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (PAOS), and Chemistry. They often recieve financial support either as INSTAAR research assistants employed on research grants or as departmental teaching assistants. A subset of SIL Graduate Students participate in the Univ. of Colorado at Boulder's Carbon, Climate and Society Initiative (CCSI), an IGERT program (Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship), sponsored by the US National Science Foundation.
Prospective students may want to contact one or several SIL members working in fields of your interest, particularly members who are departmental professors (i.e., J. White) . Contacting individual graduate students might be helpful too (People). Prospective graduate students should also contact the department that they wish to enter and apply for admission to the University of Colorado. Applications forms are available from the CU-Boulder Graduate School.
